Pastor's Aid Ministry

The Pastor's Aid Ministry endeavors to assist the Pastor and his family as necessary. All ministries involve service at their most basic level--this Ministry makes sure the Pastor has all he requires for his duties, in addition to providing encouragement, deeds, support and prayer.

"Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.

Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."

Matthew 5:15-17

Ushers Ministry

The Ushers Ministry of High Rock Baptist Church serves as the "gatekeepers" of the church. Ushers greet all worshippers upon entry, and will do their best to make you feel at home during your visit. They assist worshipers as needed throughout the service, as well as guide the collection of tithes and offerings. In order for members and visitors to come together on one accord and praise God, they must first feel comfortable and welcome in His house.

"For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness."

Psalms 84:10

Missionaries

The purpose of the Missionary Ministry is to bring the Word of God to those outside of the church--a strong ministry critical to winning souls for Christ. The word missionary comes from the Latin verb missio, meaning "sending," and synonymous with the Greek word apostolos, from which Apostle is derived.

There is an established Biblical precedent for missionary work starting as early as the twelfth chapter of Genesis, where God blesses Abram and tells him that through Abram and his descendants the entire world would be blessed. Jesus Christ tells His disciples to spread the gospel to the world soon after His resurrection:

"Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost:

Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen."

Matthew 28:19-20

Trustees Ministry

Trustees serve at the pleasure of the Church and supervise fiscal matters associated with church business. It is the responsibility of this Ministry to collect tithes and offerings, pay bills, produce accurate financial reports, oversee ministry and auxiliary expenditures, and record all church debits and credits with precision. While spiritual correctness in Christ is the church's mission, to best serve the community a church must also be financially sound.

"Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.

Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law."

Romans 13:7-8
